Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE]. This policy explains what Wildwood Whispers (“the game”, “we”) collects, why, and the choices you have. “We” means [DEVELOPER OR COMPANY NAME], contact: [CONTACT EMAIL].
1. What we collect
Account. The game gives you an anonymous account automatically the first time you play; this is a random ID with no name or email. If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive from that provider only what it shares through basic sign-in: your email address, your name, and your profile picture address, plus a provider ID. We use the sign-in only to identify your account; we do not read your contacts, posts, friends list, or other data from Google or Facebook, and we never post to them.
Game data. Lives, your currency (“Wisps”) and boosters, level progress and stars, daily quest and streak progress, purchase records (which product you bought and the store's transaction ID), and settings.
Social features. If you use Friends: your friend code, an optional display name you choose, your friends list, gifts you send or receive, and “send me a life” requests. Friends can see your display name, your total stars, your furthest chapter, and your lives.
Gameplay analytics. Events such as a level starting or ending (with score and moves), whether you watched an optional ad, daily-streak claims, and when you start and stop a session, each stored with your account ID and a timestamp. We use these to balance difficulty and fix problems.
Advertising data. The game shows optional rewarded ads and occasional between-level ads through Unity LevelPlay and the ad networks it works with. Those services may collect your device advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads. If you choose personalized ads, that data may also be used to choose ads for you (see “Your choices”).
On your device. Some settings and progress are also stored locally on your device.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or payment card details. Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store; we only receive confirmation that a purchase happened.
2. How we use it
- To run the game: save progress, keep lives and currency consistent, deliver purchases, and power Friends and leaderboards.
- To prevent cheating and abuse, and to verify purchases and rewards.
- To understand how the game is played and improve it.
- To show ads and measure them.
- To respond to your requests.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising partners may treat certain ad-related data sharing as a “sale” or “sharing” under some laws; you can opt out as described below.
3. Who we share it with
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in service on our behalf.
- Google Play / Apple process purchases; Google and Meta (Facebook) provide sign-in when you choose it.
- Unity LevelPlay and its ad networks provide and measure ads. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Other players you add as friends, as described above.
- Authorities or others when the law requires it, or to protect the game and its players.
4. Your choices
- Ads. The first time you open the game we ask whether to allow personalized ads. Choosing “Non-personalized ads only” limits ads to non-personalized ones. On iOS you are also asked for App Tracking Transparency permission, and declining it means we do not use tracking for ads. You can change these in your device settings. Ads are always optional; nothing in the game requires watching one.
- Sign-in. You can keep playing anonymously. If you signed in with Google or Facebook you can remove the game's access in that service's account settings.
- Access and deletion. You can ask to see or delete your data at any time — see how to delete your data.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA) you may have additional rights, including access, correction, deletion, portability, and objecting to or restricting some processing. Contact us to use them; we will not discriminate against you for doing so. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and game data while your account exists. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete your account and the data linked to it (see the deletion page), except records we must keep by law (for example purchase records). Analytics are deleted together with your account. Ad partners keep their own data under their own policies.
6. Children
Wildwood Whispers is [NOT directed to children under 13 — CONFIRM THIS MATCHES YOUR STORE AUDIENCE DECLARATIONS]. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security and where data is stored
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with our hosting provider. No system is perfectly secure. Your data may be processed in countries other than your own; where required we rely on appropriate safeguards.
8. Changes
We may update this policy and will change the “Last updated” date above. If a change is significant we will tell you in the game or on this site.
